Check out the Nookachamps 1/2. It is done up in Mount Vernon, so would be a bit of a drive. I have not done it before, but have heard great things about it. I plan on doing it this time around.

I don't know if it still is, but Mercer Island half used to be held in March.

The website for the Nookachamps does not seem to be working. I can't find any info about it yet. I hope it has not been canceled. I found another half that is on Jan. 3rd this year.

I'm thinking about it - I need a "next" goal...but I'm likely much slower and farther back in my training than you.  1/2 marathon would be a lofty goal by January but I've come from 0 to sprint tri's in less than 4 months so it IS possible....

I'm doing Mercer Island! http://www.mercerislandhalf.com/

I was supposed to do it last year, but it was a logistical nightmare and missed the race! I couldn't find parking, then a shuttle...now the starting line is a mile from my house...:-)

Yeah, I might decide to do the MI 1/2.  Let me see how winter goes.  Keep asking.

that one sounds better to me - I could sign up for the 10k instead at the last minute if I'm not ready for the 1/2...

Alright I am down. It doesn't sound like much fun but I think it needs to be done. Great area for a torture session such as this (I am sorry I 'll work on  my attitude)

I would hope so but I would feel better with a "back up plan".  I really hate running so this would be a HUGE challenge for me to focus on over the winter.
