Champion 6107 Out running or enjoying a fine glass of red... | Subject: RE: Ghosts and Ghouls Team Thread Hello Teamies! I'm Kristen & I'm in for 70 miles this month (although I'll probably exceed that & up my goals mid-month)... I'm training for my 2nd half-mary in mid-November. I love running more than all other sports. I'm a little twisted that way. This month is going to ROCK! |

Expert 1288 Hatboro, PA | Subject: RE: Ghosts and Ghouls Team Thread Hi! My name is Barb and my goal is 100 miles. I'm getting ready for my second half-marathon of the fall season in November and really want to have a good time (well, good for me). I am hoping to complete most of my 100 miles running, but may have to add in some walking to reach the goal. It just depends on how many days I oversleep. I started the month off with a 4.5 mile run this morning. |

Champion 5117 Brandon, MS | Subject: RE: Ghosts and Ghouls Team Thread Mornin team! I'm Bill and I'm in for 60. This will be month one of half marathon training plan for a race in January. It'll be my fifth half mary and I'm going to really try and improve my pace for this one. It's a hilly course, but I've set PRs in all my previous halfs, and I don't want this time to be any different. I'll hopefully also be in the pool and on the bike a good bit trying to ramp my base back up for HIM training which kicks in in December. My off season is over! |

Science Nerd 28760 Redwood City, California | Subject: RE: Ghosts and Ghouls Team Thread Hi team. My name is Jen. My goal this month is 115 miles. I have a marathon at the end of the month - Marine Corps Marathon - so this is the final push to get in training before then. |

Expert 1226 Chicago | Subject: RE: Ghosts and Ghouls Team Thread Gooooooooood morning Ghosts and Ghouls!! Looks like we have another gal named Barb on this team... I'm Barb hailing from Chicago and I believe I signed up for 60 (maybe 65?) miles in October. I'm running the Chicago Marathon on the 12th and I may also sign up for a small local 5k at the end of the month, it just depends on how I'm feeling. I've got no lofty goals for the race, just to finish since it wasn't my main focus of the season and I've been slacking a bit on speedwork lately. Oops! Just finish in one piece around 5:45 (if all goes as planned). At any rate. This is my first challenge back since the spring and I have a REALLY BAD HABIT OF NOT COMPLETING MY LOGS. So...if I'm pulling blanks, just poke me. Please. And just for Sesh...i love to bike...i love to bike...i love to bike...(oh wait, I still really don't love it). |

Champion 5117 Brandon, MS | Subject: RE: Ghosts and Ghouls Team Thread Barb! You're back! And you brought another Barb with you, too. This is gonna get tricky. We'll definitely need some embarrassing way to distinguish between the two Kristen and Jen, hello nibbers. |

We're you around when I got my new bike? Well, I built a new bike. I have three now, and I'm looking for counseling (though I hope to have one sold by this weekend). So you're going Iron Man huh? You really, really, really must love to bike. |

You really, really, really must love to bike. Oooooooooooh. I had no idea!!! Good luck selling the one though. And uh...yeah...something like that. I've got 13 months to learn to love my bike for that long. I'm planning on one or two organized century rides (in additional to the century's scheduled in training), plus the Full Aqua Bike at the Great Illini. For me it's all about building confidence. I'll be fine. But I caught the bug in Louisville. Felt I needed to do some damage in Arizona. Seriously...the timing doesn't get any better. Take the week off after and eat mountains of turkey and pie!? IT'S BRILLIANT. I could kiss whoever positioned IMAZ that weekend. Edited by RunningJayhawk 2008-10-01 10:15 AM |

Master 1989 New Jersey | Subject: RE: Ghosts and Ghouls Team Thread And to introduce myself...My name is Wally, from NJ. I'm signed up for my first ever Ironman - Lake Placid next summer. But for now, it's the NYC Marathon. I've been putting in more running miles than ever which, honestly, is a bit unbelievable to me. I have a goal of 140 miles for October which should lead me nicely into the marathon on Nov 2. I noticed a few familiar names from Sept's challenge - I had an absolute blast, plus it kept me motivated. Looking forward to the G&G team...and seeing what type of fun we end up with. Good luck everyone. |

Expert 1288 Hatboro, PA | Subject: RE: Ghosts and Ghouls Team Thread sesh - 2008-10-01 1:44 PM I tend to You mean I am actually supposed to work when I am at work?? I take lots of breaks. Like right now, I have exactly 1 hour to go in my workday and I have decided that I am done working for the day, unless an emergency phone call comes in and then I will pretend to have left the office for a meeting. Even with that, I am usually the most productive person in my office. (I am a case worker for individuals with mental retardation. My employer is the local county government. As a government employee, I feel it is my duty to waste time.) |

A friend of mine used to work for Department of Environmental Quality. He played "Age of Empires" on his computer for about six hours a day. I have had many days when I don't do any actual work. It's crazy to think that I am the most productive person in my office. I usually spend a lot of time playing Scramble on Facebook. (Not lately, as the new Facebook keeps crashing my computer.) My office has blocked MySpace, You Tube, AOL Games, MSN Games, and Yahoo Games. I don't know where else to find games. However, I do have a DVD player on my computer, so I could just bring in a movie to watch. |
