I am curious to know how much you should look to drink during training rides. I realize that it varies from person to person and depending on conditions. I only have 1 20oz bottle,so that is what I had today on a 1hr 46min ride. How much, oz wise, do you think should be taken every X minutes?

weigh yourself naked immediately before and immediately after a ride and calculate what your sweat rate is.  16 oz = 1 Lb.  That should give you an idea then adjust based on what your body can absorb and weather conditions.

Old-school wisdom said to drink a bottle every hour.

I simply set my watch timer for 15 min. and take a swallow every time it chimes.

Ditto the 15 min. rule. Now that fall is here and it's much cooler, I'm sweating a great deal less and don't need as much fluids. In the summer I sweat buckets and need every drop with extra electrolytes.
