Me, too!  Since I got both sold out AND rained out for my last chance at getting one sprint in this year, I'm really itching to put a date and goal of my first sprint distance tri on the calendar for 2009.

When does tri season start?  Are there any good annual events in MA that start in early spring?  Got my first run in Hyannis set for Feb...

I'm looking through trifind.com for '08 races and expecting the dates to be about the same for '09. I don't know when they'll release the dates officially, but I'm trying to build my schedule around estimates..

Some race sites already have their 2009 page up, but trifind and this site havent updated those yet.  I saw a thread similar to this in tri-talk and they said usually November is when the next years races start showing up.

take a look at what everyone in MA raced this past year - many of those are already registering....I know Cohasset is open for registration (a sprint in June) and last year sold out pretty early.

I have already signed up for Mooseman (olympic) Patriot (HIM) and Timberman (HIM)

not sure I am doing cohasset as it is a week after Patriot and I think I might be a little tired....

since most races have people register through  Active.com (endorfun being an exception) go search their database for 2009, sprint, and whatever state you want

Active.com is a good sorce for what is already registering. Most races tend to open after Feb. Part of the reason for this is the permiting process is often done in the winter by busy race directors.

If you are itching to race, look for the Monster Dash Dualthlon in Lowell on the weekend of the 26th. Small field, but I like the feel of the race.

it'll be a whole weekend, with a stage race option. YOu can do all three: Time trial, sprint, International for a combined time, with awards for the tops in each age group.

Or, you can do two or one of the races....Just sent the art to my webguy and am working on the website right now....

That sounds fantastic.  Where is the swim?  Will there be discounted housing options at the ski slope condos?  Another hilly tri to conquer!

I think we should think about a BT training weekend in that region for May.....

working on the housing stuff...there are more than 900 hotel rooms RIGHT at the race site...walk out your door and you're there.

Waterville Valley is VERY excited about having it. Our crew has been up there meeting with everyone for the past couple of days.

The swim will be in the pond. It's been completely redone, and they're filling it right now. It's 16 feet deep, crystal-clear now. They're actually creating a grass ramp out of the water for us as well.
Finish will be right in Town Square. Fireworks over the pond on Saturday night, along with a band on the Gazebo at Town Square....

Don't be surprised if there's a Half Iron as part of the weekend in 2010. We've got a great place to swim just a few miles down the road that we can do 1.2....

Bike TTs rock!

What a great idea for new race with stage races.

I'm not sure how the date will fit into with IMC about 7 weeks later.

It is great that there will be another high quality race weekend. Very cool Keith!

Waterville Valley is just stunningly beautiful. It's a perfect venue for a race, especially now that the pond is fixed....

Wow Keith, and your team have out done yourselves again! Nice work on the new venue.

With that being said, I was deeply saddend by the neccesity to drop the kids race from the Timberman weekend. Will you be able to do anything for the kids at either Mooseman or Black Fly?

Thanks again for helping set what I consider to be the standard for what a race in New England should be about.

we're going to offer adventure races/obstacle courses for kids, at Timberman and Black Fly. Probably at Mooseman too. We're working on the details.

Some of us are actually considering a kids tri for Black Fly weekend, but have been shot down by others of us, due to the experience at Timberman

Keith, would a "everyone medals" non USAT ranked kids race help? For me, it is not about how my daughter or son do, but that they have something to do that includes them in my lifestyle choice over the course of a weekend. I like them to come see me race, and I like to see them race, so having a "something" is better to me than a nothing. I do like the other projects that you are working on because the do help include the kids. Thanks again.
