Subject: RE: Little Stuff - Race Belt, Chip Holder, etcRace belt is a great investment - $7, seriously, if that. I suppose you could fashion your own race belt, but really, it's $7 and it'll last forever. I got a chip strap (again, another $5-$7) after I had one of those medical bracelets pop off during a race, losing all of my splits (as it apparently fell off in the water - I was lucky and found it in the lake after the race). I was POSITIVE I made sure that it was secure. So after that, never again. The $7 will be worth NOT losing all of my times and spending however many seconds/minutes in T2 frantically searching my wetsuit for the damn thing (I noticed it was gone while I was on the bike, so I thought it had come off when I took my wetsuit off in T1). I volunteered at a race in the spring and a good chunk of people had them - some races will even have them at chip distribution for a small fee. |
