I was being serious... it is in the middle of the ocean and google maps won't zoom in to see if there is a little island there or something. |

Melon Presser 52116 | Subject: RE: Help! How to find 42N 135W on a map? I was being serious too. I'm on a serious trail of clues and it was important to know that I was on the WRONG track with being in the middle of the Pacific! I think 42N is correct, but 135 means something else. Never mind, I'm babbling |

Member 271 Ontario | Subject: RE: Help! How to find 42N 135W on a map? ok, find a map of the world that has latitude and longitude grid on it. go north (up) of the equator 42 degrees. there will be horizontal labeled lines every five or ten degrees put one finger on that line, or more likely somewhere between the 40 and the 45 lines. now find the lines that go up and down. find the one that says 135 on it. put a finger from the other hand on it. follow both lines with your fingers until your fingers collide. Where your fingers collide is the spot your'e looking for. This spot is in the North Pacific Ocean off to the west of Vancouver Island. I hope you haven't lost your buried treasure there! |

Melon Presser 52116 | Subject: RE: Help! How to find 42N 135W on a map? Lots and lots of excellent ideas. I keep thinking! ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!!! Here's the deal, and I'm totally giving my game away, but whatever ... YOU drive/hike there and start digging if you want. A famous author in his new book gives 8 clues in 8 illustrations leading to a buried cache. He even posts a photo of it. So far no one has located it yet, despite his millions of readers. I don't know if the clues are in order, but I know they are correct. (For example, in one illustration, there is Morse code on a tiny piece of paper, which spells out BASIN). The clues, in the order in which they appear, and in brackets my best guess at meaning are: 1. California VESA 99-S [If you take the 99-S from the Oregon border, you will hit Vesa Creek Trail] 2. DFG [Department of Fish and Game--have searched fruitlessly for a station around there. Maybe there is a map or pamphlet or license I need to obtain from the DFG?] 3. 8-5 [I have no idea. DFG is open from 8-5? Interstate 5? 8 miles down from I-5 (which is also 99-S) is where you'd go to get to Vesa Creek Trail]. 4. 45 POLICE [.45 police revolver? What would I need that for? To blow the cache case open? There's no exit #45 anywhere near there, and the nearest police station is in Yreka, but I can't figure out what 45 has to do with POLICE.] 5. 42nd St., Locker #135. [Vesa Creek Trail is at 42N longitude. Still trying to figure 135 out.] 6. 25 PACES EAST 7. BIG 8. BASIN [If the clues are in order and I've gotten this far, then the cache is 25 paces east of the big basin. And there is one around Vesa Creek Trail.] Any takers? I am totally obsessed with this |

Maybe the Vesa Creek Trail ends up in Big Basin or something. I didn't see Vesa Creek Trail, but I saw a bunch of other _____ Creek Trails. No reference to 135 immediately jumped out at me, but I didn't look all that much either. Good luck and do let us know how this turns out. . |

1 | Subject: RE: Help! How to find 42N 135W on a map? I just finished reading emergency by neil strauss. you have most of the clues correct. port authority has nothing to do with clue. look between address and locker #. I beleive it says level tree or level three. all the cluse are light gray and hard to find.
