I will be in Toronto this week and am hoping to get in a run on Thursday morning (probably around 6:00 a.m.). I will be staying at 100 Front St W. Any good suggestions on where to head for my run? I'll probably keep it to between 3.5 and 5 miles. It looks like I am only a few blocks from the Harbour, not sure if I could head down there and then run along the water.

Thanks in advance for your help. It'll be a short trip, but I am looking forward to seeing the city.

Hey there,
If you are around Harborfront. head south to queens quay and then west there is a nice path that goes for miles along the waterfront. I hope this helps. Have fun in TO

Yeah, when you head do to Queen's Quay - you should head west - the east way isn't as nice.Or rather you'll be in true parkland sooner.  The Martin Goodman is the main trail that starts or at least is visible just past Bathurst. It stretches on for about 10k so more than you need. But it is lovely. I run/bike it all the time.

You're also heading out early so if you wanted to see some of the city I recommend heading up to Queen St and going west so you can window shop along a 'hip' area. See the shops and trendy restaurants ...  before all the cool people get out of bed. Wink

The other option is if you're in the downtown area is to poke into the Commerce Court Running Room store and ask about routes. The staff will be able to tell you routes that they use for their groups and may print off a map for you.

Have a great time!!

Thanks again. Maybe I can hit up the running store between my meetings and dinner on Wed. The routes you guys gave me sound great. The great thing about running is that it's so easy to just explore. I really hope I get to run; right now, if my schedule stays as it is, it shouldn't be a problem . I am flying in on Wed AM and flying out Thur PM, so it's a short trip.

Bah!! It's the east / west debate!!
I'm in the east end and love it!! But ya - I guess if it's a shorter run - west probably gets greener faster but in defense for the east - Lakeshore east of Jarvis leads to Cherry Beach which feeds in to Tommy Thompson - um... nature reserve on a spit in the middle of the lake?  BEAUTIFUL!

Oh totally!  Just that part in between going past the sugar refinery and the Guvermnent nightclub - just stinky through there! The views off the Spit are amazing!!  And who doesn't love the Beach! I love it - too bad I hardly ever get out there  :S
