Hey guys and gals,

You may or may not have heard of this race series, but I am interning as the event coordinator for this 3-event race.  The race includes a Road Race on July 11th in White, GA, as well as TT & Crit on July 12th in Marietta, GA.  Great omnium for a little competitive fun.  Accept all category riders. Visit Georgia Games  for more info on the subject.

Plus if you want to log some volunteer hours, we have a variety of positions available for you!

The Georgia State Games is part of the Georgia Sports Foundation, which was created about 19 years ago in order for Atlanta to acquire the '96 Olympics.  We promote an active lifestyle for all ages!  Plus we give medals to the Top-3 in each race, in each category.  Look forward to seeing you out there!

PM me if you would like to volunteer or if you have any questions

Cheers,

- Brent

cadence.king - 2009-07-01 11:42 AM Bump!

I wish you would have brought this up last night while we had a few people around.  Maybe you could come to the NAMSC meeting on the 9th and bring it up although that is a bit close to the event.  I will post it on the club website.  I have been wanting to do one of these but I do not want to look utterly foolish out there.  If we could get a few guys from our group to do it, I would know ahead of time whether I could keep up with anyone or not then I would be interested.

I am doing the 3K OWS.  Which event are you talking about Neal - RR or crit or OWS?

I would kind of like to do a crit or a RR if I were with people somewhat close to my ablities.  I think a crit would be fun.  I have watched them, but never participated.  I may even be up for a 3K OWS.

Here is my advice on the "crit thing"...there is no riding with specific guys in a crit pack.  The pack with move people around weither they like it or not.  If you are strong enough to sit in the top 7 or so for the race, then you can avoid the "organic" movement in the pack.  I would just jump in and do it.  They are a blast.

My only race strategy for you would be stay in the front 25% the best you can and don't take any fliers no matter how good you feel.  Save the hard leg killing efforts for the accellerations and the end sprint.

Hope you do it.
