I have a Marin Roadbike with aerobars.  It is collecting dust.  I have been riding my s22 for my training rides.  I was just wondering if other people had a training bike and a race bike, and if so, what portion of their training was done on the 'beater'.

I was considering putting some more miles on the Roadbike.

I have a road bike and a tri bike.  Since I don't do road races, I guess the latter is my 'race' bike.  Outdoors, its mostly on my tri bike.  Indoors, mostly on the road bike.  Sometimes I switch it up.

Right now I just had a road bike, but am getting a tri bike soon. I expect I'll do most of my training on the tri

If I am going out with others, I generally ride the road bike as it is more nimble, provides better sighting and is more safer in my opinion. But, if by myself, I will split time between the road and tri bike. As I get closer to a race, less than a month away, I ride the tri bike exclusively to get refamiliarized with the aero position.

2 mtb  (full suspension, hardtail)
1 tt bike

it wuold be nice to have another bike i could train on then race on but i don't see the advantage of having two.   besides that the tt bike will see alot more miles and will in 2-3 season be up at almost 8-10k miles.  it just means i will have to change it sooner.

I voted 26-50% of my training is on my race bike.

I have 3 bikes that I train on.

* My track bike (training & racing at the velodrome)

* My Trek Road bike (training in winter and on crappy days in the summer and racing TTs on)

* My Karma Race bike (training and racing in the summer).

Obviously I can only and must use the track bike at the track. That's probably 50% of my time from October - March. Then from October - March, the other 50% of my training is done on my Trek, then in the other months, 90% of my training and racing is done on my road race bike. So I didn't know what to vote for. It must be less than 50% because I don't ride it at all from October - March.

I have a Giant road bike that is just sitting around and collecting dust.  I *might* ride it if it didn't feel so darn big at this point.  I really wish it were more similar in size to my tri bike.  I have done 99% of my training on my race bike this year.

If I'm on my MTB, I'm usually with my family and do not consider it to be 'training,' though I do log the miles. ; )
