Subject: RE: seat height with aerobarsthe bear - 2009-06-22 7:29 AM In my completely uneducated opinion, the position of your seat (height and forward) should be adjusted relative to the pedals rather than the aerobars. +1 This seems more logical to me. If your legs aren't efficient on the bike, you won't be fast no matter how aero you are. Use different stem length/rise/drop to move the aerobars according to your cockpit dimension requirements. Only caveat may be that with the aero bars, your body is tilted a bit more forward, changing your body's geometry relative to the bike. I know on road bikes, the rule of thumb is to have a plumb line running through the spindle of the pedal and your knee ?patella? when the pedal is flat forward. Not sure if this changes when aerobars are introduced to the equation? |
