Subject: Which IM training program to follow?
I'm deciding btwn the BT Beginner IM and the BT Intermediate IM training programs:

Beginner Ironman - 20 Weeks - HR - (Import) (Complete plan quick-view)

Available for: Silver members
Duration: 140 days (20 weeks)
This program is a beginner plan to bridge you from an a Half Ironman to Ironman using a HRM with the confidence that you can complete the race without difficulty.

Min Bike: 30m (duration) / Max Bike: 6h 45m (duration)
Min Run: 20m (duration) / Max Run: 3h 00m (duration)
Min Swim: 1371.60M (dist) 45m (duration) / Max Swim: 4594.86M (dist) 1h 35m (duration)

Intermediate Full Ironman - 20 Week - HR - (Import) (Complete plan quick-view)

Available for: Silver members
Duration: 140 days (20 weeks)
This is a Intermediate 20 week plan is a quick ramp up in overall volume, but with 20 weeks to train only, it is a gradual and safe approach because of the alternating weeks of the long run/bike. HR monitor based. Can be used for your first IM. See details.

Min Bike: 15m (duration) / Max Bike: 6h 00m (duration)
Min Run: 15m (duration) / Max Run: 2h 40m (duration)
Min Swim: 685.80M (dist) 15m (duration) / Max Swim: 4114.80M (dist) 1h 30m (duration)

thoughts on each?  I've done 1 HIM, two Olys, and one sprint... before the IM I will have done two more HIMs (Rhode Island and Diamondman), one more Oly, and an AquaVelo IM (2.4 swim, 112 bike)

thanks !

i did the intermediate for IMCDA 2008 and really liked it.  looking at what you have done in the past i would do the intermediate if i was you.  just my two cents, but you have experience and know the committments.

good luck, which IM are you doing?

There were a lot of pros and cons that I discussed in other threads, so I will save you the reading.

I chose the Intermediate for several reasons.

yep,

Id say the intermediate.  It will keep you pushing for the other races before IMCDA or however you say it.  I'll be doing the same (looking for a tri plan) later this year.  Thinking of doing the bike focus winter maintenance program.. sorry to hijack your thread.
