Subject: End of season sale?

Do bikes go on sale at the "end of the season"?  Reason I am asking is that I am going to buy a tri bike, but I won't have all the cash until September.  Could this actually be good (having to wait till September) and might I get a better price?

Yes, you might.  Selection will be more limited, but prices will usually drop for those that remain.

Surprisingly the end of season sale might start sooner than you think as some stores are still trying to get rid of 2008 models ... and orders for 2010 are being contemplated now.

Luckily for you, it is a buyers market.

I got my road bike on an end of season sale.  It helps that I ride a pretty small bike, so they had stock left in that size.  If you're average build for a guy, I think you're going to have a harder time finding closeouts in your size.

I bought my TB in early Sept of 06, ended up getting it for 30% off online and no sales tax, shipping was $35 then.  I asked if they would offer any deals for accessories and they gave me 15% off anything else.  I ended up with new shoes, pedals, wireless CPU and aero bottle too, tax free.   When I was shopping around I knew what bike I wanted and noticed the sales stated in July/Aug.  I knew which bike I wanted based on a fitting I paid for at a LBS the year before.

That's awesome because I am a 5'3" female and need a small bike!
