Subject: A little thank you note

Well as you know my High Cliff race results made me down,
As much as I tried to smile, all I could do was frown.

There is a saying about leaving no Donkey behind,
You gave me support, even though I had clearly lost my mind.

You reminded me that this is all supposed to be fun,
even when your bike sucks and you are getting burned by the sun.  

You helped me remember what is really important in life,
Coming home healthy to my daughters and my wife.

This doesn't  mean I won't work hard to make sure next time isn't so crappy,
But I think I understand that going fast isn't what makes you happy.

So thanks again, I wish there was a way I could repay,
I just  hope to return the favor if your having a bad day.

We all stick together and support each other.  It's all about the fun and friends. 

When I got down this weekend and started complaining and b*tching about my bike issues at HHH.  I had to take a step back and remember that my significant other was sitting back at the campground not able to ride at all and wanted to in the worst way.  This is my favorite quote...

"Success is waking up in the morning, whoever you are, wherever you are, however old or young, and bounding out of bed because there's something out there you love to do, that you believe in, that you're good at — something that's bigger than you are, and you can hardly wait to get at it again today."
