Is there a secret to preventing your goggles from leaking?  I put mine on and get as water-tight a seal as possible, pressing them into my eye sockets and everything starts ok, but after about 200-300 yards I start getting a slow leak.  I try to not change my expression or anything that would break the seal, but it seems to do no good.

You don't say what brand you use, but maybe it's time to invest in a new pair? I guess it's also possible that the style you have just doesn't fit your face very well.

I just bought some Aqua Sphere Kaimans and they fit great. They have a very easy adjustment system that in my mind really allows you to dial in the right about of tension you need. They fog up really bad right now, but that's not the goggles' fault.

Just my 2 cents...

Good luck!

Tighter does not mean more leakproof, usually just the opposite.

Try loosening them.   If that doesn't work, perhaps they're just not right for your face.  Took me 3 or 4 tries to find the right ones for me.

Also try washing them with dishwashing liquid.  If face oils have built up on the seals that can affect the seal.

Sorry I had to look up my goggles to see the specific type.  I currently wear Speedo Hydrospex.  They are a couple years old, but didn't get a lot of use until this year.  I will look into some of the other models mentioned and see if any are a better fit for my face.  Of all the issues with training for 3 sports that can arise, for me, this has become the most aggravating.  When I'm doing a workout and stopping every couple hundred yards I can deal with it, but when I'm swimming 2500+ straight and have to just tolerate the water in my eye I can't stand it.

For ome, being a couple yrs old might have dried out/warped the material. Second, if I just swim, my Hydrospex are ok, but if I flip or anything....they do leak. I only keep them because they are so comfortable.

Goggles are definately trial and error. I now swim with a pair of Tyrs (I have the box somewhere, can't remember the name). I went so far as to go to Dick's, buy a pair, ask if I could try them in the water and return if necessary. I went through 2 Speedos (1 being the Hydrospex that I kept), Aquasphere Kaimans (too leaky)  and another Tyr (left me with 2 bruised looking underyes) before I found my perfect fit.

Thank Goodness my local store was very ok with me trying them or else I would have spent tons of money trying to find the prefect pair.

I tried out a pair of TYR Nest Pro's at the pool yesterday.  Love them!!  Super comfy and leak-free!
