I can't remember where I read/heard this, but Lance has never won a finish on this Mountain.  He gave one to the Pirate Pantani?

So will that be one of his highlights to shoot for, if he stays as a domestique?

Probably not.  Because the whole way this year's Tour is set up, the overall is going to be decided there.  The person who wins the stage is the one who will more than likely win the overall.

I think he will save himself throughout and then launch on the mount.  He'll help Contador, but ultimately, will churn-away at the end and win by 100 meters so he can have the one stage that has eluded him.  But I think Contador will win the overall.

He raced the climb twice in the Tour.  One he gave to Pantani, the other he started 10 minuets down on a lone rider (Ochoa sp?) at the bottom and finished 40s behind him at the top.

Whatever the yellow jersey situation I can see Lance taking that stage.

And, I'll be there!!!

Man...I am jealous.

It was Richard Virenque.  Just saw the replay of the stage yesterday.

I actually think that they will come out of the alps with 10 people that have a legitimate chance, but the TTT will be the differance maker.  Part of me thinks that Lance will play the decoy thru the alps so he can instigate and keep Contodor fresh for the Pyrenees.  But I think Rick has it right.  Whoever crosses the finish first up Ventoux will likely be your winner.  I hope there are still 3-4 in contention at the time.  Will make the stage huge
