A friend of mine who is wanting to get into tri's asked the following question - in between waxing (she does every 5 weeks) what does a woman do for grooming/wearing swimsuits?

Tell her to go every 3 weeks. That will take care of it.

Yeah, when I was going every 4 weeks even whatever hair was left there wasn't enough to be noticeable by anyone other than me.  Five might be pushing it.  Four is better anyway...if you go once a month you don't ever have to worry about it being that time of the month getting in the way of your waxing.

The other option is laser hair removal.

Besides, no one can see that close once you're in the water.  Honestly, nobody is looking.  She could probably just get away with it.

I figured as much.  Wink  I agree with the previous posters though in that no one is even going to notice anyway.  Besides, if she is wearing tri-shorts there really is nothing to see.

This question assumes most women wax? Am I out of touch? Should I be waxing? Does nobody else just do a quick razor pass in the shower every morning or so?

I don't wax...I just use a razor. It works, is easy, free, and gets the job done!

I epilate whenever the need arises.

But really, unless she's wearing a brief, and has Buckwheat in a leg lock, no one will notice.

DISCLAIMER:  I'm a guy
WARNING:  The link below *may not* be safe for work, depending on how your company's filters are set up (look at the name , but I promise it's a solid, reputable retailer...

I use this combo:  http://www.beavershaver.com/1080TRMLOTCOMBO.htm - it works great, shaves closer than a razor, and with none of the usual razor irritation.  When I first started using it, the PFB Vanish stuff helped with the very little initial irritation associated with any shaving "down there" for the first few times, but the skin got used to it quickly, and I haven't needed to use it since.

Shaving makes riding & running infinitely more comfortable for me, and this razor combo has served me well for over two years now. Initial investment is pretty steep, but it pays for itself over time compared to waxing (eek, can't imagine doing that!!).

Just another option...

Cheers, Chris

I'm a razor girl too - but I'm also blonde and I don't shave my legs because you can't see it anyway...

I agree with the others - with tri-shorts on you don't have to worry!

x2.  I'm blonde and could care less about shaving my legs. I actually stopped waxing when I started tris to spend $$ on the sport.  I just do a quick shave.  The only time anyone really sees anything is when I am at the pool and I really hope people are paying attention to their workouts and not my bikini line.

Unfortunately for a large portion of the population, using a razor never leaves the area looking "clean"...just red and bumpy.  Consider yourself lucky if you can get away with a razor.

I wonder if this is discussed by the weight weenies.

And semi-OT.  Ladies, wether us men are landing a 747 or a Cessna(in my case), we all need a landing strip.

I tried Nair once and it burned and didn't take care of everything.
