I know you can find them cheap (eBay, sales, etc.) - and I do - but why do bike jerseys retail for so much money?  I've seen a lot that retail for $90+ .  They don't seem like much more than a tech shirt with pockets and a zipper.  Am I missing something?  Or is this just a we-charge-that-much-because-people-will-pay it?

(I'm btiching because I want this jersey and it's $75):

I've got the same issue with a jersey I saw at REI.

It makes the immature part of me happy.

HalfPint. I graduated from App as well. I have some old ASU Triathlon jerseys but never thought about a jersey from their cycling club. I guess I didn't realize they were available to the public.

That thing is ugly.  Save your money.  Also why does it look like the sleeves have some extra room for "bingo flappy arms"?

Consider, also, that they are low-production numbers so they can't pro-rate the cost out over huge quantities.  Also, in many cases the colors are sublimated in, which is a higher-quality process - more details, color, etc. = a higher cost to produce.

If they took the leg too, you wouldn't be able to ride the bike.

Another Appalachian grad here!  Class of 1989.  I didn't know you could get that jersey.  Where did you find it?

So 2 sleeves cost $20???  Bogus.  But I agree if you want it - pay it - they last a long time and in 5 years you won't remember how much it cost.

I feel the pain - Want a Colorado State Flag jersey but just cannot bear to drop $75 for it when I can buy others on clearance for a lot less.

Trying to convince myself of that as well... would like a UNC Tarheels top or the Primal Wear tattoo, but those are in the $60-$75 range.  Honestly I just have a hard time spending $50+ for a shirt of any kind.

I've been cheap to date and buy from Academy.  They have either orange or neon green jerseys that I buy and they are somewhat cheap.
