I'm gonna post this in the TdF forum as well, but thought I would throw this out to the gear heads around here.

Anyone tried one fo these yet?  Going to be replacing my helmet soon and this one continues to catch my eye.  Only problem is the price tag on the darn thing.  That and the company doesn't crash replace at a discount like others do.

I'm a pretty good "hot-head" and based on some of the reviews I've seen, this might be a nice solution.  I just can't get over the $ tag.  That and I haven't been able to find a dealer yet, here in the states.

So, anyone seen one or given one a try on?

Here's a link to see one.

Don't know anything about this particular model, but as a general caveat on buying foreign-made helmets, make sure they're CPSC approved, especially if you want to wear it to compete in USAT-sanctioned races.

i love the Catlike, but as mentioned...certifications are different here in the states.

Lots of overseas shops wont even sell them to a US address. theres a place in PR that will ship them to you, but beware of the officials...the Catlike stands out- and i'm quite sure someone will notice it.

I have this helmet as well as the Catlike Crono (I think that's the name... it's the aero helmet).  I love it.  Best helmet I have for sure.  THe problem is that you can't find them anywhere in the US... you have to order them online.  I recommend wiggle.com... I've ordered stuff from them a couple times and its awesome.

I was looking at them too, but the fact that they're not legal at USAT races took them out of the running pretty quickly.  I ended up ordering a Giro Atmos from PricePoint.com last night.  (Here's a LINKY to my original post in Triathlon Talk section of BT.)  They've got the matte/titanium color scheme on sale for $99.98 through July 21st.  The other color schemes are $139.98.

Giro Atmos helmets

I read reviews of both the Giro Atmos and the Giro Ionos (the step up from the Atmos).  The overall view was that 1) the Atmos was cheaper, 2) the Ionos and the Atmos have comparable ventilation, 3) the weight difference between the two is negligible, and 4) the price difference between the two makes the choice of the Atmos a great buy.

Buying the Atmos through PricePoint.com for $99.98 left me a couple bucks to do UPS 2nd Day Air delivery.  I'm hoping to have it by Friday for a couple quick training rides and my triathlon this weekend.

Just my 2 cents.
