I must have a mishapen head.  Every pair of goggles I try leak.  I'm worried what will happen when I am in the lake in the middle of a triathlon and they start to leak.  Can anyone suggest goggle brands that absolutely do not leak?

SInce everyone's face/head is different, you just have to find the kind that work for you.   Took me 4 or 5 different ones before I found ones that work for me (and now I buy 3 or 4 of them at the beginning of the season)  Lots of people like the larger aquasphere models

Any brand will not leak if it fits.  The correllary is any brand will leak if it does not.  Big help, I know.

The only way to find which ones work for you is to try them on (not always easy to find a place to do this short of buying some different pairs and testing them on your own).  Best way is to try to 'seal' them to your face without using the strap.  If the seal holds, then they shouldn't leak when you swim.

Check the nosepiece.  The goggles should seal around your eye sockets, not against your temples.  Most people leave the bridge too wide and then have leaks around the temple.  (Put your fingers against your temple and move your jaw...you're asking the silicon to seal against this movement. )  If you have a particularly small or narrow face, consider some of the youth models.

usually it's the nosepiece but i've known several goggles to just be junk. in fact, all throughout high school I only swam with swedish goggles (the cheap ones without pads that even olympic swimmers use), but since those take awhile for your eyes to get use to, i would recommend the pair i just recently found and now exclusively use, the speedo sengar. they are the only padded goggles i've ever swam with that didn't leak and were actualy comfortable. plus, they have a flexible nosebridge that doesn't need adjusting.

also, make sure to always wet your face around your eyes and your goggles before you put them on.

Is it leaking at the top? Are they leaking without wearing a swim cap or only with a swim cap? A lot of my goggles leak at the top if I put my goggles on top of the silicone/latex swim cap without realizing. I have to make sure that I pull my swim cap up above the goggle gasket.

Try TYR Nestpro's, they feel awesome, they have large and extremely soft eye gaskets that seal great, very comfortable for long distances.

I bought the TYR Nestpros last season (blue lens for the pool and tinted for morning OWS) and I haven't even tried another pair since. I have to find out what the closest TYR model is. Hopefully they keep the same design and don't discontinue them now that the Olympics are over.

By far, by far, by FAR....the best goggle I have used in 4 years.

Im sure its head shape and personal preference and all the other stuff yes.... ( I agree- mess with nose piece first!)...trial and error can be really expensive with goggles is what I found out. I seriously tried 6 or 7 pair before I found one that has not leaked for me...Speedo Supra. Im not kidding, I found them at Target and I am on my 4th pair and yes they still carry them this yr. Maybe they are junk and everyone is snickering?! But they have worked for me and the price was right.

Nah - nobody is snickering especially me. Before the TYR goggles I'm using now I flipped a coin and tried a pair of Nike goggles for around $9.95 and I was suprised how they didn't leak, not fog up and they were very comfortable.
