Subject: Food NOT to work out onWe all see the threads in here about proper race nutrition, what to eat before a race, how to fuel etc... All with good information. However after my run last night I started thinking what food have you had experiences with eating prior to working out that might have had a not so good effect... For me last night we had a rice noodle, veggie and Thai Peanut sauce stir fry that my wife made for dinner, 2 hours later I went for a run and I definately regretted it...did not throw up by my stomach was trying to flip flop and tie itself into a pretzel all at the same time for most of the run. I have also had a bad experience from a cheese Quesadilla with a medium-hot salsa on it. (I usually stick with a mild extremely flavorful Salsa Fresca. ) What else should we avoid? |
