Not surprising. Another large race production company tried some races in Syracuse last year with only limited success. Syracuse is a great location for a major race but I think the odd distances put people off.

Any word on when they're hoping to do it?  There's a big glaring hole in the calendar in this area at the end of the season for those who like to go long. I'd like to see the race scheduled in early to mid September (Labor Day weekend folks?) to complement the current race calendar rather than see them try to compete with the Musselman.

Another HIM towards the end of the season would help to grow the market, but another in the middle of the season would just fragment it.  There's also the fact that the Musselman is a not-for-profit fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Clubs. I don't believe that going out of their way to compete with it would fit with the "community spirited" image of WTC.
