I'm doing the Waseca Triathlon 1/3 Iron distance this Sunday. 1 mile swim (no prob), 34 mile bike (great, bring it!), and a 8.8 mile run (oh no. that's a long walk). Last weekend I went to the race site to ride the course, which is flat and super fast. Then I saw the lake that I'll have to run around... twice. It's huge! And I get to run around it twice. Can you tell I'm nervous about the run?  |

Wish i would have scouted. I've been training 2 months after losing 50lbs in 4 months prior. Swim is my concern - I really don't want to have to tread water, but in the end I'll settle for calves not cramping. Other than that, I'll practice my transitions tonight. What's the strategy for day before race - light workout on 1 or all, or just rest? |

Greenfield Lifeline Tri in Greenfield, MA...strange oly distance, .6 mile swim, 30.4 mile bike, 7.2 mile run...looped course with 4 times on the bike through covered bridge...and nasty hill with switch backs afterwards...plus get to run up it once..should be fun! Last race before IM  |

It's a flat and fast course (not that that will make a difference on my time, but whatevah). Goal is to have fun, and to improve my transition times from my first and second tris (I seem to take an eternity in transition).
