It's on.

I've been in contact with the nefarious Charles Benson of Today's TMJ4, who's no doubt been spending the days since Tri-ing For Children's shining his bronze bobblehead for his 1st Place AG finish while throwing his head back and cackling "MWWWWWAH-HAH-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!" while pondering our inevitable showdown.

Well, that showdown is set for THIS SUNDAY (Yes... "SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SUNDAY! Right after the nitro funny cars featuring Big Daddy Don Garlitz!") at the Camp Whitcomb Mason Tri.

We're going mano-a-mano, or more accurately MAN-O (me)- a - HAIR-O (Charles) for bragging rights for the whole off-season.

To make things a bit more interesting, I thought it would be cool to throw down a little cash on this Matchup of the Mellenium, with proceeds going to charity, of course. Considering we have a few Donks (Joe, Pete) racing IMMOO this year for RACC (Race Against Childhood Cancer), I think that cause would be a great beneficiary of the betting.

I don't want to make anything too formal of it, but if you're interested in getting in on the action, simply state which horse you're backing in this thread and check Joe (jszat) or Pete's (PeterAK) blogs for the link to make a contribution.

That way, no matter who finishes first on Sunday, the kids will be the winners.

Hope to see many of you this weekend for what should surely prove to be showdown that won't soon be forgotten!

I've seen Benson up close and personal this season.  Hell, I even have a couple of pics to show for it.

My money's on the scoobmeister.  If CB would take a Norelco with the 1/4" guardc to that mullet of his I think he might be the favorite - that hair is just not aero dynamic.

This should be good.  Okay, whose bet is where?

I'll put $25 on the line.  If Rich wins, it goes to Joe's RACC tally.  If Benson wins, I'm putting it into my own RACC tally.

The link to my fundraising page is in the footer of my post.  All support is appreciated!

Rich,

Any chance of getting a copy of "The Distance" at CW on Sunday? I don't know if I have to order it online or if you would have a DVD or two laying around? If you have a copy and could bring along that would be great (let me know the cost?), if not, i'll get it online. I'm pretty much a lurker on this site but I will find you on Sunday.

Best of luck in your battle with Charles Benson and prayers for Scooby.

Thanks,

Pat

Thanks, Pat.

I am saying right now that, in honor of Scoob, I am going to bring a world of hurt down on Mr. Benson. It will be Sunday's lead story.

Yes, I will have a few copies of "The Distance" on hand.

Rich - I have to go with you.  We caught up on Hwy K about a month ago - actually on part of the course for CW.  Although, I am not racing tomorrow, my money is on you.  Good luck.

I have to agree with the hairdo here..........Scooby is NOT a good challenge, but rather, A GREAT CHALLENGE THAT CAN'T BE TOPPLED!!!
