Miss Thing is my daughter Carrie, running cross country at the middle school. We think 15 sessions allowing for days the coach cancels practice for whatever reason. Expert 935 South eastern Ohio | Subject: RE: Team 1 Halloween Run Challenge Hey Team, I'm Chris and I have been a bad Triathlete this year. Actually I have been plagued with various injuries and life stuff for most of the Summer. But I'm better now So I need to get it together and what better way than with a Challenge. My goals are to run every other day for at least 3 miles. So I guess that would be 15 sessions or 45 miles. I hope to do more but am confident that I can do the above. Looking forward to it. Chris |

Could we have an outhouse or a roll of toilet paper as a team chart background? |

Champion 8903 | Subject: RE: Team 1 Halloween Run Challenge BTW...I am Max, have been hanging around this site since 1862 (or so it seems). I'm 61 years old, a 3 time Ironman finisher who is coasting down the back side of life's highway. After suffering through some knee problems and battling plantar fasciitis in both feet for 2 years, my main goal is to get back to some easy running, preferably on the trails as it's kinder to my joints. Since I ran a bike trainer challenge last winter, I'd prefer not to be team captain again, but will be an enthusiastic and humorous cheerleader for everyone! |

Oh Rob, you're on the right team! There are a bunch of us who can commiserate together. Don't worry, neither excess weight nor a general dislike for running is any sort of handicap. The more crappy jokes you can come up with, the more fun this will be. A few more days and we're off and "running!" |

Master 2055 Santa Clarita | Subject: RE: Team 1 Halloween Run Challenge Hey Team My goals will be , Running distance 60miles If i get in a Running groove i will probably do more . But if its like september then : It will be hard to complete. Right now i seem to be doing mostly bike and swim . I train year round as i find it helps me sleep , relieves stress and helps control my weight. I have planning on doing a Half marathon in early november and 5 & 10 kms here and there . The next one in on Halloween morning .

Elite 4148 Utah | Subject: RE: Team 1 Halloween Run Challenge Hi Gang!! I'm excited to get involved again with the challenges. I got busy in the spring and then sidelined with ACL replacement this summer. Haven't ran since May 30th and really am not supposed to run until November. So all of my time will be on the elliptical/cross-trainer (my doc hasn't really approved this, but when I told him I had already gotten on a cross-trainer he just changed the topic to what he WOULD recommend I should do (swim and bike, waah! - he also told me I should give up running, pfft!!!) FYI: I've done two short cross-trainer sessions and my knee felt great during and after both. I don't have my goal figured out quite yet, but I'm thinking it will be in sessions of minimum 15min per session. |

I have a love hate relationship with running...I hate it, and - well I haven't determined the love part yet. But it is a necessary evil that I must improve. SOOOOOOoooooooooo, I will make my goal 50 miles. Enough of a challenge that I can't slack too much but doable if I behave. Let the wild rumpus begin! - Megan |

Champion 7931 Sequim, Washington | Subject: RE: Team 1 Halloween Run Challenge So...I guess that I need to come up with some running goals. I am taking part in a weekly Cyclocross training program every Wednesday night... I should probably take Brook (the family dog) running now and then as well. I think that I will go with 9 run workouts for now. Whenever I start running frequently I end up injured. This way I can make sure to have recovery time between runs. The CX Program doesn't count towards my running goal. |
