Subject: RE: Possible career change in the pipeline.... Good luck on the second interview! lodewey - 2009-10-29 5:14 PM I've changed careers twice (started as a General Accounting Mgr, then was a professional horse trainer, then software developer) and let me say I LOVE CHANGING CAREERS! Actually, I just love change in general. I'm weird that way. Now, rather than changing careers, I just do lots of contracts, which is pretty much like changing jobs every 6-12 months. Love it! (Except that I'm really trying to stay where I am now... must not get wanderlust...) I agree! I love change. I think it helps you think outside the box, be creative and you always stay on top of things - adapting to the current climate. Hubby and I have taken some huge risks with our careers (ie quit and traveled for 3 months, started up our own businesses etc ) and the results have always been incredible. They say that it's not uncommon now for someone to have 5 career changes prior to retirement. -environmental contractor -management in financial industry -technology consultant -running my own business in sales -management in medical field That's five and I'm almost 40... I'm thinking I have a few more up my sleeve |
