Someone sent me this slideshow today and OH MY GOODNESS!  If you thought D.C was buried well.... just look for yourself!

For best effect, make it full screen and you have to manually click through the photos.

the one shot of lawn furniture in the snow is almost like my patio.  But I can't even see my patio furniture!

Those are awesome! I loved the stop sign with the ice sheet.

Reminded me of these:

It is a snow tunnel for Timeberline Lodge at Mt. Hood so people can get to the parking lot in the winter. I can't find the pic I want, but there have been years where the entire from of the Lodge is covered in snow and all you can see is the weathervane. This from a place that as of 01.01.10 has 80" of BASE on their slopes...

Unlike the east coast this has actually been a pretty bad snow year here.  Goes in cycles.  About ever 4 or so years it bites.  This place is typically opened year round and has way more snow.

Oh wow... those are awesome.  Thank you for sharing.  I have somewhat of an ice/snow fettish.  I think my dream vacation would be an icebreaker cruise to the North Pole!  Or where is that ice hotel I have seen on TV?

Really? That isn't what I last heard, but as I put, that was as of the New Year. We were still having a halfway decent year then, too. Now, notsomuch. The mid-Atlantic stole all of our snow. Our poor ski resorts are pretty desperate.

The only time I've ever been skiing at Mt. Hood was in the summer. Go Palmer Glacier! (no...wait...STAY Palmer Glacier!)
