Adding a wee bit of fuel to the fire, I emailed WTC a week or so ago and asked if they could share any info about the rumors in the tri community abut an IM coming to Texas (obvsiously knowing they wouldn't come right out and tell me, but I was bored and fishing a bit). The response I received did not include a denial, but it did talk about Lone Star and Longhorn and said: We have received extraordinary support for these two events from the State of Texas, the county and governmental entities and the athletes as well as sponsors and licensees who see our Texas expansion as a great addition to the IRONMAN family....check back on our website for upcoming news regarding any further expansion of our event schedule for both the IRONMAN and the IRONMAN 70.3 series of events.
