Hello team 2! Look forward to spending time with you this month! Lots of new faces in the group so I will introduce myself.
I'm Kim from WI or otherwise known as the donks, or donkeys. I have been doing tris for 3 yrs and my big race is Racine 1/2 Ironman in July. I am married with 4 kids and am a fitness instructor for the YMCA.

Hi team 2!  Nice to see some familiar faces and I'm looking forward to getting to know the people I don't know.

I'm still finalizing my goals (just switched training plans), but I should have that by the end of the day.

Any ideas for a name?

I have my goals set:
  • 2 bike rides 15 miles long sub one hour.
    • Note: I'll do more rides than this. But at least 2 have to meet this requirement.
  • 9 walk/run sessions 2 miles long.
  • 11 swim sessions following the Ruth Kazez 0 to 1650 plan.

The pool is closed this week, so instead of swimming before work today, I made my first attempt at getting my short route (aka oasis route, aka 15-mile route) under one hour. I did 1:03:38. My best time so far by a minute or so, but not sub one hour. Oh well, it's only June 1st.

Edited to add: Oh, and my <insert adjective here> husband did it in 53:34 yesterday. Grrr.

The 0 to 1650 is a good plan - it got me over the mental aspects of swimming a mile...

Good to hear a positive review! I'm on week three. I like the way the yardage builds at the front, the fact I have the comfort of knowing I will get more breaks as the workout goes on, and yet the breaks get shorter. Good for the mind game and keeps building the fitness.

It has a certain "ring" to it...  As far as names - anything except "June Bugs" - don't know why, but that name drives me crazy...

I dunno. I can't see myself cheering "We're number 2!"

Then again, I can't see myself cheering, "Go June Bugs!" either.

Hm. Since this challenge is really everyone versus Bill, we could be team "Beat Bill." (Sort of a take off on the movie Kill Bill, but we don't want to kill Bill - we just want to beat him.)

Or we can be something else. Heh, "Go Team Whatever!"

You do realize, of course, that now I really want to name us "June Bugs."

I'm like that, you know.

Yes, I know - the tazings will continue until morale improves...    But you know what I like and its not a taser....
