WooHoooo!   Love the team names Wink  OKAY Team NMLH.....Let's get those abs we've been after.  My goal for the past 18 months has been in the blog :  Abs that look like I never gave birth.  Let's get moving on the core work and post different and new things you've tried for the core cause sometimes we need to try something new to challenge the core differently.

I'm always trying to loose weight so find it hard to justify spending time on core activities when I could spend it on calorie burning ones ..... and that's even when I really need to strengthen my back and core as I've had back problems in the past. I'm hoping that this is going to be the turning point! So it's NMLH for me Cool

Good Luck with your HIM!!!!!

My abs USED to be my favorite part of my body.  I'd like to get them back to the point that it is fun to show off my tummy, again.  Also, struggle with some back problems, so having a strong core is essential.

I've never been on a losing team, so lets go Team NMLH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

10 minutes of straight core work is harder than is tounds....and I do core work pretty regular.  That said.....1 down!

Done my race. Finished 5th in AG in 5:58:06. Ya small age group? Haha.

I totally did my 10min of core this morning!! Might be a regular component of my race morning routine from now on...I mean its not like I did anything hcore, but getting the core activated is useful!! haha

Hi everyone.  Now that i've committed to this (oh man, what was i thinking?!?), I have one 'newbie' question.  I've been trying to throw in core work 2 - 3 times a week using the same basic routine, thinking it was like other strength work in which it was best to get some rest days for the muscles.  I'm assuming my thinking now is to vary the routines to hit different areas each day.  Am I on the right track here?

It is amazing how long 10 minutes is. I started with a routine called 8-minutes abs. It is a series of 11 different exercises. It was about 20 reps per exercise. I added 5 reps to each exercise to get to 10 minutes.

Yes, vary the routines.  It keeps the muscles fresher and you work them from different angles.  Plus it eliminates the boredom factor!

Go team NMLH!  I just joined in - did my ten minutes yesterday evening.  For those interested, I did the "Hard Core" workout found in the articles here on BT.  (link)  I only did ten reps each and cut out the last two exercises, but plan on doing the full set tonight and increasing the reps as I go along. 

I've never taken part in a team challenge before....looking forward to crushing the competition!!

Congrats on your HIM AND your 5th place finish.  Impressive!

To all: Does anyone here have a TRX or suspension trainer?  I've been using one for the past month or so.  They are fun and very challenging.  10 min on it is tough!

Hey guys! Got my core in this morning before I went for a recovery ride on my trail bike. Did a core exercise that we called "the flamingo" when I was swimming. Its pretty intense. I'll see if I can draw it out and post it because its hard to describe. Haha.
