This challenge has been brought to you by the Crushers!

Big thanks to Crusher Emma (Emmanem) for the great challenge idea and to Crusher Dee (D001) for creating the spreadsheet.

Challenge:
1 – Get as many activity minutes as you can. You get two points for every twenty minutes of swim/bike/run and one point for every twenty minutes of other physical activities.
2 – Eat well. You get one point for every seven servings of fruits and veggies, one point for every day you drink at least sixty-four ounces of water, and one point for every day that you don’t consume added sugar, junk food or soda.

Here’s the spreadsheet:

https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=tpa5iZ6XoKc4GxdRCYPtniA&hl=e...

Spreadsheet info:
1) Enter your name in the 1st column.
2) Do not change anything in yellow or orange highlighted cells! (The formulas will calculate your points.)
3) Minutes of Swim, Bike or Run --> Enter total minutes for Week 1. You get 2 pts for every 20 min of activity.
4) Minutes of OTHER activity --> Enter total minutes for Week 1. You get 1 pt for every 20 min of activity.
5) # of servings Fruits &Veggies --> Enter total servings for Week 1. You get 1 pt for every 7 servings.
6) # Days drinking at least 64 oz water --> Enter total DAYS for Week 1. You get 1 pt for every day.
7) # Days with NO sugar, junk food or soda --> Enter total DAYS for Week 1. You get 1 pt for every day.
8) Repeat all of the above for weeks 2, 3 and 4.

I'm in of course!  Also I'm making an executive decision regarding the weeks....

Week 1 will be from January 1-8 (8 days)
Week 2 will be from January 9-16 (8 days)
Week 3 will be from January 17-24 (8 days)
Week 4 will be from January 25-31 (7 days)

This way the weeks will be more even in length and the last won't have 3 extra days.  Any way this can be put on the spreadsheet Dee??  I'll try to remind everyone periodically throughout the challenge as well!

Sure, I can add the dates.

I'm "in," too. Of course, I don't expect to have a stellar performance in the "no junk food" category, but....

I do like the power I have in creating this challenge... fun to be "in charge" so to speak haha although i couldn't have done it without all the Crushers support and Dee's awesome spreadsheet!!

As for the taser, I actually have a roommate who has one so I could always borrow that but thanks for the offer

Love the points.

For those of us who rarewly eat sugary stuff or drink soda it seems an unfair point advantage to have those count.....but I guess it's good motivation for those who do struggle there!

Yes, I am in!!

Timely challenge to get back into it. Currently still 2 weeks until the achilles is completely recovered and I'm back into full training, but slowly starting to doing other things now.  Diet also needs a bit of a tweak, although having said that in the last 2.5 months of no exercise and eating crap, have managed to lose a few kilos - I would say all muscle but didn't have that much muscle to start with

wgraves7582 - 2010-12-30 11:47 AM Emma I have a question

Servings of Fruit/Veggies.  V8 says it is equal to x # of servings - do we go by that.  I make smoothie with that and then frozen fruits so I would end up with about 8 servings alone.

Is that right or is it 1 smoothie = 1 serving?

Great Question!  Reminds me to post this link for reference to what counts as a serving of a fruit or vegetable....  http://www.healthy-eating-made-easy.com/fruit-and-vegetable-servings.html

With things like V8 definitely count it as x number of servings.
