Ghoulies Are Peachy in May!

Hi Ghouls. Rant warning. Read at your own risk.

I had a group over for dinner last night. Training/tri peeps. All really nice people. Pretty tame evening as several people had long training plans for today. I cleaned up last night but when I got up this morning I saw that my wood floors in the kitchen were trashed. It looked like someone took an ice-pick and and stabbed the floor hundreds of times. I'm pretty sure it is from someone's high heels - that they'd lost the cap that covers the heel. No other real explanation. I'm also fairly certain I know who it is. This is a tri/running crew. Not lots of heels in the crowd. Her life is a sucktastic mess at the moment. I hate to even think about bringing it up to her. Frankly, if it was her and she wanted to help she has no means to do it. So I have floors that look like a hailstorm hit and am pretty sure the only fix is to get them totally refinished. Because of a pair of stupid high heels. To say I am pizzed is an understatement.

Rant over.

You know... if Guido and Big Louie break her knee caps, she won't be wearing high heels for awhile. I'm just sayin'.

sorry Ive been awol.  busy week and weekend. 

all is well, though i had a difficult day yesturday.  all of sudden these emotions flood over me.  im mad, sad and just feel awful.  

fortunately the funk eventually passes.  

to be expected considering....hopefully these 'episodes' will be fewer and farther between.

had a fun weekend.  went out for drinks and dinner w my new 'friend'.  we had a nice time.  he's terribly funny.  

then i met up w some Y friends to celebrate our friends birthday.  the BIG 40.  Dax is a great guy and lots of fun to hang out with both at the Y and out too.

we were at this new wing place in town and the UFC was on.  the resturant was PACKED with GUYS watching the fights.  craziest thing ever.  

my friend isnt into UFC all that much, just happened to fall on the night he was going out for his birthday.

then yesturday after i worked the boys and i just chilled out at home.

its looking to be a managable work week.  ive settled somewhat into a regular schedule.

getting the boys ready for school and then heading out to a staff meeting.

meeting some girlfriends for lunch and then two clients today and a SWIM.

ive been putting my workouts on my calendar in my phone and that's helping A LOT in helping me to make time and follow through on my workouts.

not sure i'll be in the Village much today, but I'll be sure to chk in as the week progresses.

Swim today, spin tomorrow, run Wed, swim on Thursday....

The DU yesterday was only about 20 ppl and it was my life goal not to finish last. Haha. Everyone who started was a vet in swim/bike/running...so I was a bit worried. But I came solidly in the middle I think. Gained about 4 spots on the bike from the first run and then hung on! I'm pretty happy with myself. Offical results arn't quite up yet though.

I am sleepy this morning.  Stayed up too late as usual.  Also sinus is making my throat sore.  Spent a lot of time outdoors over the weekend and then mowed the grass yesterday. dang allergies.

Though, Robin, yours sound much worse.  Hope you feel better soon!

that is awful.  We usually take off our shoes when entering homes here because of the red GA clay that does not easily come out of floors or carpets.  Maybe you need to make your home a shoeless zone.  Maybe you need to invite the whole crew back for a floor refinishing party.

Last night I sent an email to my friend who ran the Gettysburg marathon and asked her how she did. She responded back that she was happy with her time. She ran it in 4:17. Not too bad considering it was her first and the entire 26.2 miles were nothing but up and down hills, almost no flats.
