It gives us an opportunity to conduct ourselves better than the last time...
It teaches us more about ourselves and the people we thought we knew, who in times of peace, may not have been a full person to us yet...
It sometimes(!) helps us see others's views and sometimes(!) if we are open enough, affects the way we think/act in the future

I wrote this before:

yawn.

this shit is getting old real quick.

How bout everyone just play nice on their own threads and leave one another alone if you aren;t diggin' what they dig?

But now I am taking the Jim Christian approach and facing negativity with positivity.
Peace out my bruthas and sistahs in sweat

Yeah I like conflict, too (you probably know that Hollis...), but what I don't like is when it starts getting personal. Hence the big ol' deep breath.

I have a good friend who does family counseling (has her own practice). She told me that she was trained to sometimes CREATE a conflict within the family as a way to generate change... I thought that was interesting....

Now see, this is an example of hijacking a perfectly innocuous thread, and making it about something else, in spite of, almost becasue, of the OP's (yes, in this case, me,( attempt to add something unique and personal. I think that is what was bugging people.

just a PSA.

Forgiven. I do like you. A lot. That's why I wanted to explain what (I think) people are grousing about. Usually I ignore stuff if it bugs me. This doesn't bug me all that bad, I have much bigger fish to fry in the world, but I think it gets to the point others were making....

carry on....

Point taken. I don't mind to much when my threads go in different directions as long as they are interesting - self-centered of me to assume that others feel the same. Thanks for driving the point home, I will be more cognizant of this in the future. In all fairness, though, you continually haunt my dreams and I can't resist. Do you have a white rabbit and a large stew pot?

Yeah...I get that too. I'm a stream of consciousness kinda guy, so Ilike nothing better than to throw out the first thing that comes to mind and just see where it goes. I also like sitting back and watching threads as they meander along.

But I do see how people who don't think like me (99.9% of the population...curses) might get a tad ticked at their threads always getting hijacked.

I like Possum cause she's probably the smartest person on BT (well...maybe second to stupidnickname...that guy's got a brain the size of Texas)..

And cause she's gonna be a great mom...

Thats so sweet Jim!!! There you go again...

I think I have to dispute your nomination for smartest....but that would be hijacking again and I'm not going there.

No charge for that one.

I don't think Welshy's smarter than Possum.

oh geez, ya'll, I love the love but get a life!

Welshy, you need to get out more. I am not all that, even what you know of me isn't all that.
Being smart is not nearly as important as being kind and good.
There are many kinds of smart, I happen to be the kind that reads and writes pretty well, but I am not the kind of smart that knows not to touch the handle of a pot of boiling water, I am not the kind of smart that can understand the physics of a bike, I am not the kind of smart that can carry a tune, I am not the kind of smart that can make flowers and plants grow beautiful, and I am definitely not the kind of smart to understand the crazy stuff stupidnickname likes to read. Just incase there are people who really care about that stuff.

But thanks, being thought to be "good enough" to be a mom in spite of all the challneges means tons to me.

So now this thread morphs into "Who's the smartest person on BT?"

Will there be a poll or just nominations from the floor?
