Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Fowler, the washed up coach Corso, and Herb Kirkstreet claim to be the be all end all college football show, but yet instead of going to Knoxville for a match up of two SEC TOP 10 teams #5 Georgia (yes we are probably ranked to high) vs. #8 Tennessee Vowels, they are going to a freaking second tier, Big Ten (eleven) match up! Not that this show had any credibility to begin with but now it has absolutely NONE! Ok rant over! |

Got Wahoo? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() So much bitterness.... Accept that Tech would kick the shit out of 90% of the SEC and your life will be less stressful. LSU and Tenn are better than average, GA and Alabama are all dreadfully overrated, and there is not a lot left... Florida? SC? You have maybe 4 good teams and all of the sudden we ahve to listen to this SEC garbage: ohhh, I'm the SEC, Ohhhhh, Look at me, I'm the SEC, I'm so pretty.... SEC....You don't see other conferences breaking their arms to pat their own backs when the SEC is everyones bitch (and it's been that way for a while). bout time you hade an average conference again. |

Texas Tech would struggle (and struggle is being kind) to beat the bottom 4 teams in the SEC. As Urban "big ole dumb@ss" Meyer has proven that spread offense crap doesn't fly here. A Texas Tech Vs Vandy game might be entertaining but only because Vandy would actually beat somebody. |

Indiana State? That would be like me going and beating up every 8-year-old on my block and saying I'm the toughest fighter in the world. I want to root for all my Texas teams, but they need to start playing some D-1 teams to have any kind of credibility... otherwise it's just embarassing. bts Edited by Brett 2005-10-06 10:16 AM |

Maybe they do, maybe they don't. But so far, all they have done is beat the dung out of 3 D-II teams and Kansas(Big XII bottom dweller). They didn't exactly lite the world a fire against Kansas. They still have to go to Lincoln and Austin. Then they have A&M and OU at home. They will lose at least 2 of those games and then probably one to someone they have no business losing to like K-State. |

Member![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Disagree on losing to someone we aren't supposed to...Mike Leach is not Spike Dykes...he has 2 losses like that in his entire tenure. We don't know exactly what kind of team we have yet, but we played as bad as we can possibly play and still beat Kansas by 13...which is a top 5 defense in the Big 12...go ask La. Tech...they are quoted as saying Kansas' defense is every bit as good as Florida's, if not better...La Tech played both. I see Tech losing to UT for sure and maybe OU or slight chance at Lincoln...we won't lose to aTm this year in Lubbock (sorry TriComet)... |

Got Wahoo? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I will be the first to admit our non conference schedule is laughable - I groaned when I saw it. Still, that doesn't mean they would struggle against Vandy or SC or Kentucky or Miss st. or Florida or miss or bama, for that matter.... And If you think tech would be a cake walk for the top teams in the SUC, talk to number 4 Cal. We finished the season in the top 10 last year with a top 15 schedule and haven't lost since, so I'd ahve to say your SUC statements are a bit myopic and lack any credibility. All true, except that it's 2 D-II teams (although the Sun Belt Conference does barely qualify as D 1). And I think it's agreed then that we'll see how Tech does against Huskers and then let the monkey poo fly once again? bts |

(hears crickets chirping) Myopia at it's most extreem. The point is how good is Tech this year, not how good were we 42 years ago. See, this is why no one nationally takes the SUC seriously, good or bad, there are always drunken howls of myopic bluster... "Look at me, I'm the SEC... " |

Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Welshy my point is Tech isn't good this year nor have they been good in years past. They pad their schedule with no name D II programs to pad their stats so they average 800 yds a game passing and then flop against any marginally good team. Sorry to burst your bubble but the SEC and the ACC are the best conferences in football and there isn't anyone who can say differently! |

Sorry to burst your bubble but the SEC and the ACC are the best conferences in football and there isn't anyone who can say differently! Perhaps this year the SEC and ACC are the best conferences, but obviously that cannot be a blanket statement applied to all years past and future. The only team worthy of a top 15 ranking at this point in the season out of the Big XII is Texas. So yes, this year it appears that SEC and ACC are probably considerably stronger conferences than the Big XII. Tech has some proven to do but even if they beat everyone on their schedule other than Texas I'm still not sure you can argue they are that good, with OU down, A&M still down, OSU down, and the best team from the north being very average. |

Got Wahoo? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() You are right. Tech sucks. Miss, Miss st, Vandy, Kentucky, South Carolina, Florida and Arkansas would all destroy us. Still, I'm curious to know how you know techs is not any good? I've admitted we do not ahve a difficult schedule, but the last quality game we had was against a top 5 team (5 games ago) and we demolished them, so I'm wondering what you are basing your expert and studdied opinion on?
