Subject: unexpected IM side effectsI would really like some advice on the best way to let my body heal. I’ve had some side effects the last 2 days I wasn’t expecting, besides the normal soreness, hurt toe nails, upset stomach, etc. (I experienced minimal soreness after my half's and after my marathons, and am used to the "trots" so what I'm talking about is new to me). The pain at the end of the race was more than I’ve ever felt-laying in bed it felt like someone was stabbing my whole body with hundreds of knives. I thought my muscles and body would hurt more yesterday and today but I feel pretty good. I am just exhausted and hungry---all the time. I couldn’t get enough food yesterday, felt light headed last night and am STARVING still today. I ate 4 full meals + snacks yesterday, with seconds at the awards brunch too. When will this die down? I feel like I’ve gained weight also (weird), my pants are tight. Could this still be fluids I’m retaining? I ballooned during the race -scary- but I wouldn’t think this should still be a problem 2 days later. I’m going to try to get plenty of sleep this week, I’m pretty sure I’ll get sick; I usually do after marathons.
