As a fellow New Englander, I'm wishing you guys good luck.  Unfortunately I cannot join the challenge this time.  Travelling in Dec and a potential LASIK, meaning 4 to 8 weeks no swimming.  You guys have fun, and WIN the challenge!!

KEWL... Hopefully this is just what I need to kick my swimming up a notch!

So, when do we need to decide/post what our distance is going to be?

Your team members report their goals to the team captain, he/she gives me the team numbers. I need the numbers by November 30.

Each team member sets their goal for the month of December of how many yards they plan to swim. The team with the highest percentage of goal attainment wins the challenge. Check out the December Swim Challenge thread for more details of rules, etc.

Rob, just let me know by the end of this month...

Okay, I just set up my swim goals for Dec. Even though I'm cutting my swims from M-F to M/W/F, I still think it’s pretty aggressive--which is the point for me.

I plan on swimming the following:

F, 12/2: 2,000y

M, 12/5: 1,000y
W, 12/7: 1,500y
F, 12/9: 2,000y

M, 12/12: 1,500y
W, 12/14: 2,000y
F, 12/16: 2,500y (Current PB distance)

M, 12/19: 1,500y
W, 12/21: 2,000y
F, 12/23: 2,750y (new PB distance)

M, 12/26: 1,500y
W, 12/28: 2,000y
F, 12/30: 3,000y (new PB distance)

For a grand total of 25,250 yards!

That's some mighty fine swimming, Rob! Maybe double check that your pool will be open the day after Christmas? I know for me that it will be closed Christmas through new years, so my goal will reflect swimming from the 1st through the 23rd...

I'll give ya'll sickies a shout out when my December schedule becomes available. I may not even be anywhere near a pool that whole month. How is the score weighted? Percentage of promised swim completed, or total yardage compared to the other teams?

Yes, I am being lazy and not researching old challenges to see how this stuff works.

Nevermind, just saw what huskyboy posted. Will drop in with a goal after my life in Dec is on paper.

I'm in, if I can be on this team. I know that NY isn't part of N.E. but it's close and i'm a Bostonian by birth.

Goal: 22250 yards

Can we call the team the New England Pooltriots?

I want to be part of the challenge too!

I live in MA and live in the heart of NE. I'll get my number together. I need to add up what my coach has planned for me and estimate for the rest of the month. I'm very excited about my swimming...I did my first 100's under 2:10 Friday and today. Now to learn flip turns and keep practicing bilateral breathing.

This should be fun...and being competitive Yanks I know we will do awesome!

Please add me to the list as well -- I live in Cambridge, Mass...just moved from Somerville, and still swim there.  It'll be a test of my will to count laps to get any signficant yardage in for December.  I hate counting laps and got spoiled with open water lake swimming this past summer, but I'll suffer for and with you all...and enjoy it!

Detailed workout dates/distances coming soon.  2x/wk max -- 2500-3000 each time are my est's

Cheers, -Sunny

You're in Sunny! Yeah, it's pretty harsh getting back to pool-only swimming - just about six more months til we can hit the lakes again!
