Subject: Thankful

Happy Thanksgiving! This is my favorite holiday.

I am thankful for having legs that can run for 3 hours. Friends who run, swim and bike with me. Friends who constantly encourage me. Friends who show me through their actions how to be a better me.

I am thankful for all the laughter and joy in my life.

I am thankful for my family, mother, sisters, nieces and nephews.

I am thankful for my health - physical and emotional.

I am thankful for my boss who supports my training schedule.

I'm travelling to NYC tomorrow to give thanks with a very old friend of mine. I hope everyone enjoys their thanks-giving holiday!

p.s. I'd be most thankful of the Triathlon Gods saw fit to give me a new pink Giro helmet for my birthday in the new year.

To all my friends I say Hear Ye, Hear Ye
HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all on BT
May you eat like a pig
and perhaps drink a swig
And enjoy a day filled with happiness and glee.

i am thankful for...

+ MOTHER EARTH: the beauty and diversity of this planet, and all the gifts it has generously given. i am thankful, reverent, and wish we would all take better care to not damage these things (and therefore ourselves).

+ FAMILY: my husband, his love, his support, his health, wit, kindness, generosity, and his rugged good looks; my daughters, their health, happiness, laughter, humor, wit, and every other little think about them; our siblings and parents who always come through in the end.

+ FRIENDS: all of my friends, but especially three of my best friends who live within walking distance from my home and that we are all able to share the joys, trials, and tribulations of motherhood together.

+ BEING A 'STAY AT HOME' MOM: being able to stay home with my children is one of the best gifts i have ever been given.

+ FITNESS: training for tris has given me more fitness than i've ever had (and i considered myself fit before!), as well as more energy, a more positive outlook, and a better self-image.

+ LIVING IN THE INFORMATION AGE: to log on and learn, check the weather, read the paper, log my workouts, email friends across land and sea. very amazing.

and finally...

+ I AM THANKFUL I GOT TO SEE HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE LAST NIGHT!!!

Don, you have a beautiful family.

Your wife's haircut just inspired me to make a salon aptmt before I go out of town tomorrow! I've been letting it grow out but now I'm not.

She cuts her own and ours as well.

Since you'll be in NYC, 'bout an hour and a half away, give us a call.  She can cut yours as well.

I'm thankful for many, many things, but since we're doing pics, I should just say that I VERY thankful for my two brothers, who bring out the  best and the worst in me, often simultaneously.

heh.  You ain't seen nothing yet.

Just kidding. I love that picture because it came at the end of the last family vacation (20 family members going through Sicily to town where our mom is from-- awesome trip, but c'mon. 20 people? For 10 days? WAAAAAY too many), and our parents were like "Oh, another picture opportunity!" and we were all like "No.F;ing.Way". Finally brother 1  says "Fine, you can take my picture, but you're only getting my a*s"

And, thus, the a*s picutre was born.

Back to your regularly scheduled Thankful Thread.

I'm thankful for burritos!

Sorry- I couldn't resist.  I'm thankful for everything- family, friends, my job (even though I hate it), my home, my faith, my church home, my ability to do tri's/marathons, my cute little orange furballs at home (my kitties- they're great company), laughter, good memories, I can go on...

Ours was awesome. It turns out that, at sea no one thinks twice about serving your 10yo cousin Mai Tais.
