The Milford Daily News in Milford MA. reports that Dick Hoyt, who many of you know from Team Hoyt has had a recent streak of bad luck, with a tree falling on his home as well as the recent failing the $40,000 van needed to transport Rick and his racing wheelchair. They can't afford to replace the van on their own.

 If you are so inclined, donations can be mailed to the Hopkinton Athletic Association, P.O. Box 820, Hopkinton, MA 01748. Checks should be made out to the HAA, and specify the "Hoyts’ Fund" in the memo line of the check

Brad, I believe they actually finished in 1989, and possibly also in 1999. Not sure about any of the years between. There have been other years that they competed but were DNF, including 2004.

They have done several, but I am looking for the one where they are the big story of the TV coverage...

The IM website dosent say... just IM Kona and the year... they should mention team hoyt I bet they would sell more if they did.

Depends on your amount of insurance, deductible etc. And I understand the van wasn't involved in an accident, it just needs to be replaced.

Team Hoyt is a pretty astounding story of the depth of a father’s love for his son.  Truly inspiring story behind the team and their accomplishments.
