I belong to LA Fitness.  I just swam at a new location yesterday, when I got out of the water on the way to the locker room I saw this thing hanging on the wall.    It’s a machine where you put your swim suit in this basket and hold down the top for about 10 seconds and the basket spins really fast, like the spin cycle on the washer and it extracts all the water from your suit.  It was pretty cool, anyone else seen/used one of these contraptions?

I use the one at my LA Fitness every time I swim. Love it.

They have one at the YW in Vancouver. It's pretty good if you are going to work afterwards and you don't want to carry a wet suit around all day.

Yeah, Lifetime Fitness has them at the two I go to.  On the one hand they are really cool, on the other hand I put my suit in the plastic bag they provide anyway and take it home and wash it so I'm not sure I'm getting any benefit out of the extractor.  I still use it every time because I'm a boy and we love our toys.

I find it very hard to squeeze myself into one.  They're pretty small.

Yeah, seen those spin-thingy at many gyms I have been to. However, I find my swimsuits tend to wear out faster if I use the spin thing. Don't know if it's the residual chlorine or the spinning that is causing it.

This thread is funny, I never thought a spinner could drum up so much excitement.

They've had them in the locker room one or two places.

That is so funny that this thread started today--I was just thinking this morning (after my swim at Bally's) that I wish they had a suit dryer.  I had one at the locker rooms in college, and i am spoiled now.  they definitely do wear your suits out faster; i usually just put mine in for a few seconds to spin the drip out.
