Perhaps the best example of record industry marketing a bunch of guys who can still, 30 years later, barely play. You have obviously never seen them live. They're truly incredible musicians. There's just no way to stay at the top of one of the most competitive fields in the most competitive market in the world without being truly great at what you do. You may not like their music, but that's very different from their not being talented. |

| Elite 2768 Raleigh | Subject: RE: Air Guitar... KILLS! I agree with Maramdaddy. I went to music school in CA for 2 years and I seen a lot of fads and people who couldnt play their instruments. Theyre cds are now at the 1.99 bin at best buy. If a band has been around for 30 years, that is not a fad and those guys can play. As for that matter, I know a lot of guitarists that can blow the doors off of most bands but they have never had a hook or a platinum album (anyone heard of Yngwie Malmsteen). I admit a lot of the boston boys new stuff sucks but the old stuff is good and has some really tasty playing and hooks.

Here's something to pick yourself up if you're ever having a bad day and think that things just couldn't get any worse: Imagine if Celine Dion put out a record called 'Celine sings Barry Manilows Greatest Hits' and you had to listen to it on a cross country road trip. Things can always be worse. |
