from the Wizard of Oz would have the toughest time being a triatlete?  I have some other opinions on this, but will let the group take a stab at it first.

Looks like two of us were thinking alike.

It is hard to train if you are dead.

Even if she hadn't been killed she would have a tough time with the swim.

As would the tin man.

No way the witch could swim, and even if she did make it out of the water she may melt in the heat of the sun on a HIM or IM race she would have to stick to early morning sprints and oly's in cool climates.

Definitely the Lion.  He'd be so scared that he would finish DFN or DNF that he'd DNS.

(Just so no one has to feel silly for asking...DFN = Dead Freakin' Last;  DNF = Did Not Finish;  DNS = Did not start.

Definitely Jim - No heart or brain just a lot of misguided courage.

Kidding!

The munchkins would kick butt.  They would have their own category.....like Clydesdale, only smaller.

As would the tin man.

But what if he wore a wetsuit and only took place in cold-weather tris?

The tin man would fill up with water and sink like a Volkswagon. Even with the wetsuit.

I would guess the tin man's run time would suck with no knees too.  I wonder if the lion would shave his legs during the season?

Exactly how does DFN = Dead Freakin' Last? Shouldn't it be DFL?

The Wizard.

He'd talk a good game. He'd have some impressive gear. He'd have great PR/buzz/hype. But when it came time to get it on, the man behind the curtain would create a diversion and leave the building.

Those Freaking Flying Monkees Always scared the BeeJeesus out of me as a kid.  (Back in the day when It was on once a year, with our B&W TV, and on either CBS, NBC or ABC)

Come to think of it, Dorothy would probably post a pretty good run split with her Ruby Red Slipper (Red Being FAST).
