that if you looked at the average cross-section of Monopoly players in the world...and noted what % of them used the "iron" game piece....that % would be lower than the % of triathletes who use the "iron" game piece to represent themselves in the game.

perhaps the IronMan organization should consider talking to Parker Brothers to have the bottom of the Monopoly iron stamped with a tiny little M-Dot.

"I bet you $10,000...!"   Oh, wait, that should be in another thread.

actually I'm surprised that M-dot has not claimed that they own the rights to the term "Iron".  Of course, their lawyers could be working on it.

Everyone knows the Scottie Dog and the Race car are the ONLY pieces to use. The Iron is totally lame.

I'm old. We never had battleship or cannon. Sorry, but Scottie Dog don't care. Scottie Dog takes what it wants.

The battleship and cannon were added in 1937.  The dog did not come until the 1950s...

The convertible car is the only way to cruise around the board.

This actually looks a lot like the Egyptian ballot voting symbols to help people who can't read know who to vote for...

I used to be a battleship man...until I did 140.6.  I've earned the right to be the dang iron!

wheelbarrow, shoe, hat, and dog (I just don't care for that kind of dog)...I just didn't care for those pieces.  Ship, cannon, and car are very cool.

btw, the iron doesn't help me win if you're wondering...my 8-year old has whomped me our last 2 games this month!

I always liked the iron and the dog. Our set didn't have a cannon or a battleship either and it was bought sometime in the past 28 years.

I quizzed the parents, and our set was born in 1951. I was the cannon, except when not available, in which case I rocked the shoe.

Ha!  Yeah, that's a good point.

I think I am going to have to start teaching my kids a lesson playing Monopoly.  I've been letting them live in a Socialist Utopian society apparently.  Who knew that the inventor was such a Lefty, eh?  Every player starting off with $1500?  That's preposterous.  Next time we play, each player will be randomly assigned different net worths prior to the game.  Some players will begin the game with some property, some with lots, and some with none...likewise with the money.

When those poor slobs who start off with the disadvantage eventually go bankrupt, I will explain to them about how they spoiled their "opportunity" to succeed.

I always tried to get the race car or the battle ship.  Haven't played in a while.  Perhaps tonight I'll talk the girls into a game in front of the fireplace.
