Subject: First Tri in One WeekHi everyone. I just want to say that I love this site. I have been posting my workouts daily for last couple of weeks. I have been working out steadily for the last 2 years. Started out only being able to do about 15 minutes of walking on the treadmill. I can now do a 5k in about 28 minutes. (I know that this is slow to many of you, but a terrific accomplishment for me ) Have never done a bike race and I am terrible at swimming. But I started training for the tri about 8 weeks ago in earnest. I have basically utilized the following weekly training schedule:
2 runs- one long, one interval
1-2 bike- worked up from 7 miles to 22. one easy, one long
2-3 swim @ least 1/2 mile each time. Went from only being able to string 2 laps together without stopping to 20
I realize it is too late to change up my routine for this race, (a sprint ) but hope to learn what I could have done differently after this one. Will taper down this week and be very careful about my diet. Also plan to practice my transitions. Any last minute advice from anyone????
