They recently posted a link in their facebook page to an update in regards to ordering and shipping...I dont rember all the details of the top of my head but they are working on receiving the parts now and expect to be in the wind tunnel by March....If i recall correctly best case scenario is taking orders late March with possible shipping by May, first come first serve....I will try to post the link later...
I would definetely be interested in a group buy, have been waiting for them to get my first set of descent wheels....

Here's the exact details from their blog:
Pre-Order
If the factories keep their promises we should be offering our pre-order in late March.  The pre-order will be on a first-come-first-serve basis.  What this means is that the first orders in, will be the first orders shipped.  After the pre-order, the first wheels should take a ride on the UPS truck in approximately 60-90 days.  For example: pre-order ends March 31, wheels ship May 31 - June 30.  The pre-order will guarantee you a set of wheels.  Once the pre-order is over and normal sales begin, we will do our best to keep up with inventory.  However, there may delays since we have to order our parts from Asia.  Please understand.

If they can keep to that time-frame then I'm definitely interested in a group order.  Not sure I'm willing to wait past late June, though.

This is what was mentioned about pricing, but not as a group buy.

"Our price points are still a moving target. If all goes as planned, our front 60mm and 90mm wheels will be approximately $249-$299. Our rear 60mm and 90mm wheels will be approximately $299-$349. There are still details to work out with the disc wheel, but we are shooting for a $500-$600 price range. These prices are not finalized and may change by the time we launch. That said, our goal is to be as close to these values as possible."

Oh, and I'm also interested in a group buy on that timeline.

I'd be looking at a 60 front, 90 rear combo.

I don't think that there has been enough information release on the wheels for me to be comfortable with an early purchase group buy at this point.  No specific price point, no specific design model.  What hubs are they using and which spokes?  What is the weight of the wheel?  I'm looking forward to the release of the wheels but not ready to walk in on a blind purchase.

Good point....I have been looking forward to their wheels, mainly due to the pricing information released so far, for quite a while.  As i stated above i would be interested if there is a group buy, but once there is is more information in regards to the concerns that you listed and which i'm sure most interested people have....Having said that, a good warranty would take a lot of my concerns away and i would take a chance....

IMO, I think the goal of a group buy should be to get your order in first (ahead of individual orders)...not to get a discount.  I think everyone will agree that their price point is already dirt cheap.

If that's the case...I'm in.

I'm interested in them as well, the price is right, but I'm not yet ready to buy something that hasn't been tested yet.

If they want me to test I'd be willing to do that for them, but I doubt that will happen, I'm just an everyday avg cyclist, plus there is 10 in of snow outside now lol.

But maybe I will maybe I won't. Just need to see them first.

Typical triathletes, not sure what exactly they are, when they'll be available, or how much they'll cost, but we'll line up to buy them.

Hey guys Chris here.  There are lot's of questions so let me try to address them.

1.  Our price point is still $249-$299 for front wheels, $349-$399 for rear wheels and $500-$600 for a disc wheel.

2.  We will be using Sapim Spokes.  The same spokes used by Hed and Zipp.

3.  Our hubs will be a high quality light weight hub with stainless steel Japanese bearings.  As is stands right now you will also have the opportunity to upgrade to ceramic bearings.

4.  We don't have specifics on weight yet.  As some others have mentioned we are still waiting to have some of our parts manufactured.  As a ball park estimate I would say we will be close to the weight of the Hed Jet wheels.  But again that is only an estimate at this time.

5.  A group buy will be an option.  Details on that will become available in time.

Please feel free to ask any additional question.  I'll do my best to answer them.

I wanted to address the question on design model as well.  I'm assuming the question is referring to how we designed our wheels and what type of shape we will be using.  We used CD Adapco software to perform a computational fluid dynamic analysis of several toroidal shapes.  More information on that process can be found on our blog at http://flocycling.blogspot.com.

The design we chose was the "wider" toroidal shape.  Our testing confirmed our wider shape to be more aerodynamic which answers why that shape was chosen.

Our disc wheel will be lenticular.  Think Zipp Sub 9 or Hed Jet Disc.  Our disc wheel has our 90mm shape near the tire that transitions into a disc wheel.

I hope that helps.

One last question.  What about rim width?  Will it be the traditional 19mm or the C2/latest Zipp width of 22/23mm?  Have you guys done any CFD testing regarding the width and how it makes a difference?  I only ask because I know there are a few people that prefer the 19mm width matched with a 19mm tire over the wider rims.  What has your testing found in regards to this claim?

Great question.  We will be using a wider rim profile.  It will be right around 24mm.  This is the rim we tested with CFD that worked so well.  We only tested the wider rim because it works with our fairing shape.  In short a narrower rim doesn't fit our fairing.  Forcing our fairing to slim down to 19mm negates the aerodynamic benefits that are gained by going with a wider rim/fairing shape.  We'll have a more detailed explanation on our site when it goes live.

I hope that helps,

The wheels will have aluminum clincher rims and carbon fiber fairings.  Think Hed Jet type wheel.

this sounds like a great wheel....

1)  toroidal design
2)  wheel depth 23-24 mm which is apparently more aero
3)  disc is lenticular in design
4)  nice hubs
5)  great price point

i am going to pick up a disc just for my shorter races as i ride with a pt for longer stuff....
