I'm a pretty boring guy. Basically my Facebook posts fall into four categories:

1. Photos of my cats.

2. Photos of cool airplanes.

3. News links I found interesting or odd.

4. Links or photos related to my job.

An emerging sub-category within Facebook is the photo of the girl doing a cartwheel on the beach in a bikini. I see a lot of these, and I wonder if it is due to some anomaly in the demographic of triathlon since most of my Facebook acquaintances fall into one of two categories: People involved in multisport  -or-  People who blow stuff up for a living.

I am seeing no such posts from my associates in the second category, but the first category is rife with them. Not that I'm complaining mind you, I just have never done a cartwheel on the beach and find the compulsion to do so, while clad in a bathing costume, an anomally.

Anyway...

Sir, with the utmost respect and sincerity, might I suggest that you feature a lad with a pair of dungarees on his noggin as your profile photo. While I cast no aspersions on this whatsoever, I merely make mention of the fact...

Wink

Anyway. Triathletes seem to like to post photos of themselves doing cartwheels on the beach.

Bam...

Is this a picture of a cat watching a girl in a bikini doing a cartwheel?  If so I may have to post to my facebook page....

My newsfeed is dominated with people telling me the temp outside.  I bet I saw two dozen screen shots from the Weather app.

I would guestimate that at least 1/2 of the threads in TT are essentially the girl doing a cartwheel.  Maybe we need a subforum specifically for that purpose Tongue out

Well. Humph. If you'd ever accepted my friend request so I could see what you post, I might have an idea of what you're talking about.

If anybody else wants to be my friend and post pics of themselves in skimpy swimwear doing cartwheels, I'd find that very inspirational to my training. Just sayin'.

OK I just sent you a facebook friend request. I think the picture you're referring to has been around a long time, usually with a caption about being an attention w****. Of course, any time we all spend on facebook is all AWing now anyway, so it's moot.

Unless there is a new girl on the beach doing cartwheels that I am unaware of.

I'll keep you informed with new clothes purchases, sizes dropping, 5k prs that should be 10k times - you know, really important fun stuff like that.

Received neither a cat picture or a pic of a girl doing a cartwheel.  Of course if I were to login into Facebook a little more often (like once every few weeks) I might see more. Wink

Here's what I'm seeing a lot of lately:

1. yourecards - odd, quasi-Victorian cartoon drawings with bizarre non-sequitur or snarky captions

2. faux-profound "inspirational" sayings, sometimes superimposed on a sunset picture.

3. cute pictures of kids

4. people posting pictures of what they're about to eat for breakfast/lunch/dinner

I've never seen this on my FB page but then I have too many FB friends. I was trying to invite people from my buddhist temple to join our group page but instead I friend requested like 1000 people so I see all sorts of stuff.

On the other hand pretty much all I post is what exercise I've done (Since I use my phone as my cyclometer and pace watch usually and there is a neat feature that posts my workout when done). And sometimes I check in at resteraunts that I'm at but otherwise I'm usually working out at work or on here. Reading through entire threads about bikini gymnasts. So here you go:

Instagram photos everywhere. Drives me a little crazy. People take a picture of a piece of crap, distort it with the instagram app and remark how beautiful their piece of crap is.
