So I wear a nice pressed white shirt to work today and everyone is looking at me funny and several have joked and wished me well on my interview.  I guess because it is a new shirt and super white it spells interview, but why can't a guy wear a nice shirt to work without getting attacked?  Ironically in some ways, I find myself enjoying the process of watching people behave and tactfully try to figure out my agenda.

I'm pretty sure I would get less torment if I came to work in my tri kit.  Funny stuff.

As an Elementary PE teacher, staff and student take note of when I don't wear my "gym suit" (as some kids like to call it). Many people would probably like to wear sweats to work every day, but it is nice to wear normal clothes every now and then. Casual Friday is like dress-up day for me.

Did you recently get a hair cut?  I had a guy that works for me get a hair cut and trim his "beard".  When I asked him how his interview went he said "It went.........wait how did you know I went on an interview and WHO TOLD YOU!!!!"

It was pretty obvious.  Maybe they noticed some other changes and with the white new white shirt it seemed to them you were interviewing.

Depends on where you work. In my office, a"stark white shirt" is standard dress. Apparently in your work environment you stand out like a sore thumb. If you dress above the standard, expect comments.

Same thing happened to me at home last night.  I usually wear Shorts, a shirt with a collar and a hoodie to work.  I had to speak at a thing last night, so I put a nice shirt, Tie, slacks and dress shoes on, and my kids laughed at me!

Anytime I dress up at work - above average, people do not ask if I had an interview - they ask what big meeting I am going to. My normal reply is simply I am lazy and this was all that was left in my closet
