Subject: RE: New to site, new to TriathalonWelcome to the site -- you have come to the right place for motivation and helpful tips. As far as swimming in a race, my only suggestion is to try to not pay much attention to others around you (once you stop getting kicked) and relax. Swim your normal swim and don't worry about time. It is the shorest part of your race, you will gain the least advantage in this leg even if you are somewhat fast, and you want to save a good amount of your energy for the next two legs. You will be able to make up time in the bike and/or run depending on your strong area. Congrats on finishing your first tri -- hope you had lots of fun. Nancy |
