Subject: The Definitive Timberman/BT Thread

Capt Jack (Rob) and I would like to host a BT get together at B. Mae’s Resort (2 miles from the start) on Saturday, August 19 at 3:30 p.m. We’ll have an area set up (and appropriately marked of course) and we’ll even provide soft drinks and munchies (sorry, beer will have to wait till Sunday).

This is what we are thinking for Saturday:

12:30 – 1:30 - Check out Ellacoya (opens at noon), pre race swim, hang out

2:00 – 3:00 – Bike Check In at Ellocoya– MANDATORY (from 2-7)

3:30 – 4:30 BT Party at B Mae’s

4:45 – 5:30 – Head to Gunstock and check out TimberVillage Festival and Expo

5:30 - ??? – Mandatory Pre- Race meeting at Gunstock

Nothing is set in stone. We just figure the more we do as a group the more fun for all.

Post here so we can get a headcount.

Apologies if the fonts are screwed up.  IE is playing games w/ me. It looks a lot nicer thru Netscape. Anyway, it's Rob's fault  Smile

I'll plan on at least stopping by at B. Mae's.  Not sure how many of my crew I'll drag bring with me.

I'm arriving Thurs., so if anyone else is up there early I'll be trying to ride the run course and part of the bike course.

And for those sticking around Sunday, my whole family plans on attending the Gunstock TimberParty.  "9 Lobsters, please!"

Look forward to meeting as many BTers as possible!

Oh, thanks to Rob & Mark for organizing!

I believe it! Rob is trying to lull me to sleep, something about LP being his focus and suddenly TM is his B race.  Oh, and he also wanted to me to pre-ride the entire course w/ him on saturday. No smacktalk but he's definately got a hidden agenda Wink

As to Johnny, I've seen first hand those "rollers" he trains on. It'll be fun watching him and Rob battle it out. That's o.k. w/ me best time buys the beer on Sunday!

Surely you guys are speaking of some other “Rob!”

My goal for T-Man is to finish feeling like I could have done more. Besides, I don't want to spend myself because then Aaron wouldn't feel like he had a real challenge after he beats me at C-Berry.

I'm there.  The recovery is coming along just fine so I'm racing the full HIM...none of that aqua-bike sissy crap.  I've got a condo on the lake Fri-Sun and have a motley group of friends and random girls staying the weekend.  I should be getting to town Friday afternoon.  Not sure about what my plans are but I'd definitely like to stop by the party Saturday afternoon at the least.

So, who's going to start the smack talk about the race?  I've never raced T-man before so I'm not sure what to expect but I've got 3 more weeks to crush my training plan and see what it gets me.

Not able to be there d/t family plans but don't let Rob kid you.  I have no shame.  A smackdown is a smackdown and if Rob feels compelled to use the "I did Timberman a week ago excuse" while licking his wounds then so be it.

Sounds like I'm missing out on another fun event.

Works for me too!  'Course I'm not to worried with Jorge and Joel there. I figure I'll have to build at least a 20min lead on Joel by the run to have an even shot at him.  And I don't think his bike and swim are near that slow.  As for Jorge, I expect he'll be working at the aid stations by the time I get close to the second loop on the run.

Licking my wounds??? I think it's going to be more like, "Damn, I did my 1st 1/2 a week ago and STILL threw it down on you!"

Now I just need to figure out how I'm going to do it...

Oh, and I'm really looking forward to that free beer, Jorge!

Hey that's not fair.

What about the slowest transition time pays for the beer after the race?

Jorge,

A doesnt know you wont be there he will be freaked out everytime he hears a disc whizz by him! Maybe it was Rob during the run at IMLP who said you are slow and he was gonna smoke u on the run. What do I know I was the guy carrying two bottles of wine..clearly I had too much to drink cause I recall Rob crushing me on the run.
