 2 |  Subject: wearing the timing chipWith the use of timing chips, I have a question for anyone who has had this issue. Wearing a wetsuit leaves only the bare ankle for the timing chip to be snug on a leg. Then when removing the wetsuit in transition 1 the chip and velcro become a problem because they are in the way of a smooth removal of the leg of the wetsuit. My last triathlon this year the velcro strap got caught in the leg of the wetsuit and then by the time I got on my bike the strap was hanging loosely as I took off. Where else do athletes wear the chip, or how do you avoid the strap getting caught in the wetsuit leg while removing the wetsuit in T1?  |

Race morning I spray some Trislide Silicone Lubricant Spray on my lower legs and arms. Makes wetsuit removal much easier. Slick as a greased pig!  |

Really interested in this, as I have "not very long legs" (flight surgeon once told me, "Son, God cheated you out of your legs, but at least you won't break them BOTH when you eject." As far as I can tell, the only reason they are cut at an angle is to make th eopening bigger......but once you cut them up to the calf that's taken care of. I'm trying to load a pic but I can't get it downloaded from my phone. |

The timing chip is covered with one or two wraps of electic tape for security and slickness. Sensei Sin City | Subject: RE: wearing the timing chip The only issue I have ever seen with taping the chip is at the end of the race, the volunteers had a bit of trouble trying to get through at all in the middle of the chute with other racers coming through. Granted, this guy used about 6 layers of medical tape and a safety pins as well. I personally have it under the suit. I also have 6" zippers at the calves that I just leave up instead of altering my wetsuit.
