Subject: RE: wide cycling shoes I just wanted to add...I recently discovered that my Diadora's were getting to be uncomfortable to me. (I believe pregnancy may have made my foot a bit wider...) I read on here and other places, and there was talk of Northwave. I looked and had a bit of trouble finding them without paying $15-20 USD shipping. I found some at both backcountry.com and I ordered them from competitivecyclist.com. I ended up going with the "Fondo" style and paid $105! (Pretty good for cycling shoes, especially considering how long they last!) I got them and tried them on. (Haven't used them on the bike yet, still waiting for shoulder surgery to heal a bit more..) They were incredibly comfortable! Pretty wide through at the ball of the foot but snug in the heel. I'm excited to try them! (Plus, with the "touring" style shoe - when I end up having to walk up a hill , I've got some shoe nubs to protect the cleat...) |
