Hey all,

i am just getting into the sport. I have been running for quite some time; done several 5k's, half's and 1 full marathon. As far as the other sports I do not have too much experience. I have now been doing masters training for a month and am enjoying it and have also been training on my trek mtb which I plan on using for my 1st oly race. I have been browsing this forum non stop and am excited to get going and actually be a triathlete to hopefully become an ironman one day!

That's awesome that you are joining the sport, swimming with master's and riding a Trek mountain bike. I rode one of those my first season, and it was perfect. It let me get into the sport without a huge investment of a fancy new bike. I even passed some people with fancy bikes because I had a good engine You'll do great!!!!

My race report is different. My motivating factors go back seven years. I have lived in denial for seven years. Depression. I registered for Ironman Texas even though I felt like a complete failure.

I had read the articles on BT, I'd trained, and I thought I had prepared. There were, however, a few things that I didn't internalize despite what I'd been told.
